Gypsy Jazz combines the soulful chords and melodies of the folk music of the Roma with the freedom and inventiveness of American Jazz.  Students will learn the classic tunes of the genre inspired by greats like Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli and will learn chordal accompaniment and soloing techniques.  Our Advanced Gypsy Jazz performance group has gotten rave reviews and lots of excitement from folks who've head them.  This is your chance to take some beginning steps to learn this style of music from a member of one of the area's best gypsy jazz groups in the Bay Area, Besso Negro.

Students are expected to fluent on their instrument (all acoustic instruments are welcome, including vocalists).  Music will be provided, though students may bring a recording device if they wish.

Cost for the class is $150 for 6 sessions ($30 per class drop-in).
